In Satyajit Ray'sSamapti, a tomboy defies all attempts by her mother-in-law and others around to rush her into womanhood. But when the transition happens, it is surprisingly swift - and unaided. A simple story of inevitable change - minus the bells and whistles. And, Ray wisely doesn't add any.
